El pasado 8 de abril, la comunidad DGTIC se reunió para presenciar un eclipse solar y aprender sobre su naturaleza e importancia científica.
Los doctores José Arturo Trelles Hernández y Antonio Castellanos Ramírez, del Instituto de Astronomía de la UNAM, ofrecieron una charla en el auditorio del edificio principal y en la sede Mascarones, respectivamente, para explicar los diferentes tipos de eclipses, las razones por las que suceden y las medidas de seguridad necesarias para su observación.
Con lentes especiales nos maravillarnos ante este fenómeno natural. Aunque en la Ciudad de México el eclipse no fue total, sí pudimos observar cómo la Luna se interpuso entre la Tierra y el Sol.
Durante cuatro minutos y medio, el Sol se ocultó 79 por ciento. En punto de las 12:14 horas bajó la intensidad de la luz, disminuyó la temperatura y sopló fuerte el viento.
Se percibió el asombro de quienes vivían este acontecimiento por primera vez y la gratitud de las personas que nuevamente fueron testigos de un evento tan extraordinario.
Además de reflexionar sobre nuestro lugar en el cosmos, este tipo de sucesos nos impulsan a apreciar la belleza del universo y a entender la importancia de la ciencia para conocerlo.
